rick, thank you for joining us. what is your overwhelmingly biggest observation from the debate last night? >> this was mitt romney's night, no question about it. he was sharp, specific, sustained, a plan of attack and went after barack obama every way he could. holding him accountable for the obama record. we haven't seen that too much in this campaign. there have been so many personal attacks, so many back and forths. he was able to say look this is what you promised four years ago, this is what you delivered on, where is the gap? here's what i will offer. most importantly, able to say look this is the choice i am offering. and he was able to control this debate. >> what do you think was the problem with the president last night? his performance is uniformly panned, tired, underprepared, overconfident? what do you think -- or was this a strategy of some kind? >> i think it was part strategy. they went into the debate knowing they're winning the campaign with the current strategy. don't do anything to upset that ap
